Great Education Read This was a great book not only for educators but for parents and all persons interested in education. It really put in perspective that a lot of what we teach children (and adults) is just rote memorization and there is a much better way. Mr. Steinberg does a great job of not only doing this in the 'ivory' tower of a university but tells us of his implementation of. A bracing look at the reality of science education Steinberg is a teacher of teachers -- but he's not your typical ivory tower academic (being one myself I can vouch for the fact that there are lots of us on campuses). He took his sabbatical to teach physics in an inner city high school so he could see what many of his teachers would really experience. His year is documented with insight, humor, and pathos.
