Amazon Customer said Pietro. I purchased this book based upon reviews by friends who said it was an outstanding read. My book readings have not in the past showed any interest in fantasy genre. So I took it on to pursue something new to refresh my reading experience. To my surprise, the book took hold from the beginning to the final page. The book was great reading and each chapter took on a new direction to keep my interest. The writing is clear, crisp and expr. Fun story for all ages Rhino the Hippo Great easy read- the characters developed nicely and the story keeps you guessing and turning the page. I enjoyed the detail put into the fantasy world Jason created, it draws you into the story and gives it life. It's fun watching the characters grow into themselves and their power- Looking forward to getting to know Laila and Conner better in the book!. "Patience!" according to H. Bright. Erratic story. But still would have been an interesting read if I hadn't become so irritated with the overuse of the word "child". Child, child, child, child, child, child, yes child, no child, come child, child, child, child!!! Insert "sweet'ums" or "whippersnapper" each time you see the word "child" and see how it grates! I started using "grasshopper".
A place of balance. All Laila ever prepared for was to become a Citizen. Now she must seek the answers she needs and come to terms with what she has become, all before everything she's ever known comes crashing down around her.. But on the eve of her Test she meets a strange old man that forever changes that path. A Consul like her father, or a Guardian like her mother. But, something festers within, disrupting that balance, something that threatens the foundations of the whole world. Terus, beautiful city of the Confederacy, home to the Artisans, Guardians, and Consuls
