It is interesting to compare the in-person experiences of a competitor with literary giants who compile histories based on eye-witness interviews. That is not to say one style is better than the other. I would put this book in t. stars because I have not finished reading this excellent volume - Le Mans, Spa, Targa Florio, Nurburgring etc - all excellent topics and descriptions of races either extinct or no longer run in the original form. Great photos,however the writing could be better,I understand Mr. Redman is not a professional author and in fact is a wonderful speaker and has a wealth of first hand motorsports knowledge. Did enjoy the book but wished for more insight into personalities and moments when not in the spotlight.. Great book for a great racer wpapac great book on one of the best all around drivers in the world. Too bad his F1 career did not take off like his other endeavors. Well written, great pictures and a nice personal view of his family life and his few but devastating accidents. Great book for any racing enthusiast to have on their libray shelves!
