DESCRIPTION:

With the first portal of hell permanently open, the energies of the dark path are leaching into the world. Searching for Schmidt’s killer and the keys at the same time, Risa and reaper Azriel track a shape-shifting spider spirit capable of changing her form into a seductive woman. And when Wolfgang Schmidt, the lover of her boss at the vampire council, is found dead, her worst fears are confirmed. Half-werewolf, half-Aedh Risa Jones is beginning to believe that the only way to find the keys she’s been searching for and save her friends is by dying. But when they finally find the second key, the Aedh Lucian snatches it and disappears. Risa is intent on finding Lucian and fighting him to the death—for in her mind, she knows that neither can remain while the other lives.

great concept, but the heroine just too annoying stargirl I've read all of Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen series and all of the Dark Angels books to date, and I have to say that I was very disappointed with this particular book. The concept and storyline are wonderful, but I just cannot abide the main character Risa Jones any longer. There is so much potential for a great heroine, but we are left with a selfish, illogical, willfully ignorant character who cannot get herself out of a jam without someone rescuing her. She ** SPOILER ALERT ** decides to throw away a relationship with the one person who sacrificed everything to be with her, decides that death is better than livi. Good read but least favorite Rhea It was a good story and. cleared up some lose ends, but was not happy with the Risa. She whined and was way too angry all of the time and it was like a broken record that came across as very immature and selfish, instead of self sacrificing which I think is what the author was after. Yep, her life is out of control, but instead of trying to get control and maybe being up front with the people around her she lies and tries to hide her activities just like a child/teenager does to avoid getting into trouble. And then end of the book basically ends with a temper tantrum. Hope she grows up in the next book, otherwise . "Things are finally starting to come together in the Dark Angels series!" according to RabidReads. *** THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS ***Keri Author's talent as an author is undeniable but after the last two Dark Angels books I've kind of felt like she's been stretching this series' story arc past its breaking point in order to sell more installments.
