Bryce Warren said G.L. Giles and her alien Puss in Boots. G.L. Giles (author of Water Vamps) has a new short story included in the collection Imagination Reimagined: Not Your Children’s Fairy Tales titled “Puss in Boots.” It’s a wonderfully fun romp through a fairy-tale mash-up of a sci-fi, alien story featuring Jet, the main character, who is on the way to a cosplay convention when out of the blue, “My life is changed with a blip.” The blip in question turns out to be a UFO detected by a telescope’s pulse-detection system. The UFO lands in Jet’s backyard and reveals a five-. "my favorite story in the collection" according to Staci L. Wilson. Imagination Reimagined is one wild ride! It’s a collection of alternate fairy tales, written by and for adults. Which does not necessarily mean “adult” if you know what I mean. In fact, my favorite story in the collection, Puss in Boots (by GL Giles) is a kooky comedy about a cosmic cat who travels through space to help out an inventor with a penchant for cosplay. The cat’s name is Je suis Le Maitre Chat ou Le Chat Botté (Matt, for short) and as he says, “I’m from another dimension, comprenez-vous?” That’s true. "If you like Grimm fairy tales grab this anthology!" according to Gary P. Starta. As the title indicates this anthology includes re-imagined works of fairy tales a la Brothers Grimm, some taking on a modern day perspective.G.L. Giles shines with her 'ancient aliens' take on 'Puss on Boots' which portrays the talking cat landing on Earth to warn our protagonist of the Annunorcus' (think Annunaki) return and these snake-like aliens may opt for eating humans instead of enslaving them this go round.Enjoy reworkings of 'The Girl in the Red Hood' by Brad Parnell, After Ever by William Leary and 'Genie in a Bottle' by Bryan and Wendy Schardein.
