And by all I mean the remaining books from Karin Kallmaker's backlist that I haven't read yet. I'm reminded why KK is the one of the best romance (sub-genre omitted on purpose) writers of all time, IMHO, every time I pick up a new "old" Kallmaker from her Naiad days. Substitute for Love is no exception.First off, as a gal who scored mo' bettah on math versus verbal back when the SATs were scored out of 1600, I am in utter awe of how KK weaves mathematical concepts in Holly's internal dialogue to illustrate th. I just don't get wrapped up in a book where two women meet, have sex and then realize they want to spend the rest of their lives together. There's more to this book than that, but it boils down to that sad cliché.. "Kallmaker gets better and better" according to Burdas. Karin Kallmaker continues to amaze me. The books get better and better. In my opinion this book may not be the steamiest, but certainly is the most well written of them all. It has a more complexity in it's story line than most lesbian novels and holds your interest without fail. I can not overlook it's quantity either. How many times have you bought a book that's so thin, with large type, it equals a Kallmaker gets better and better Karin Kallmaker continues to amaze me. The books get better and better.
