Brings back old times of 1st Lt Core's Army assignment during WW II. I bought this book because I was Harold A. Core's secretary during World War II when he was a 1st Lt. at Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation, Newport News, Va. Interesting that he was promoted to Colonel and received a Ph. D. in Forestry. He was very nice and handsome too. We went to over 100 meetings together processing civilians into Officers in the Army. I took the notes in shorthand and transcribed them.. After I read this book!! Hsieh Jen Shou I am a graduate student in Dept. of Wood Industry, NPUST in Taiwan. My major is in wood ultrastructure and electron microscopy. This book is written by Dr. H. C. Core, Dr. A. C. Day and Dr. Cote, they are all professor in wood structure in NC State University, especially Dr. Cote. To get a great EM picture is very difficult, but in this book we can find so many beautiful EM pictures, and let us know a different "small" world! I'm very love this book, and I always want to buy it, but it was out of print.
